Marie obtained her Masters of Science in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2005. After a decade of project management, art direction, and production experience within the pharmaceutical marketing and healthcare industries, she started her own business – Left Right Brain, LLC. Marie is a member of The Association of Medical Illustrators and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.

While much of Marie’s medical and scientific work requires her to work digitally, she still allocates much of her time to focus on traditional studio art projects. She has created album covers, event posters, and children’s books, and has been commissioned for both large and small scale painting projects from mural work to portraiture. Marie works in a broad spectrum of mediums, and has traveled all over the world documenting her experiences both with cameras and sketchbooks. Currently, she is exploring the unification of mixed media and encaustics, a process that involves embedding her drawings and photographs into wax paintings.
