Diane Rainey

One of my fondest memories was watching my neighbor paint life size oil portraits.  He allowed me to sit for hours talking about paints, lines, tone, shadows and feelings.  This inspired me to be creative and opened my eyes to the arts.  Trying various mediums over the years has lead me to settle with a passion for graphite and watercolor.

After retirement as a computer programmer, I pursued and completed the UNC Botanical Art and Illustration certificate program in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  After completing this program I became a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators-Carolina and look forward to sharpening my scientific skills.

It was an honor to be chosen to be in the ASBA exhibit ,Out On A Limb, at the Foundry Art Center in St. Charles, Missouri.  For the year 2020 ASBA Banner Year web site exhibit I was selected as an honorable mention where my art work is on the web site.
